Turbo Geek

Turbo Geek (a.k.a. David Smith) is a 16 year old eccentric noise-child prodigy who sites extremes such as Cage, Fursaxa and Throbbing Gristle among his influences.

New CD-R for 13.3.06 - "Assourdissant" - Extremely loud kid-mayhem! Assourdissant: 'Deafening' (French). Acoustical techniques are used in a very sophisticated and wayward, anarchic manner; also extremely harsh and dark in places and one may wonder of the deep angst today's youth are harbouring! Watch out for Turbo Geek! Very rare - 50 only.

TG says - "This album is a study of brutism in music. Music is often described as something that is pleasant to the ears, this album shows that beauty can be found in almost all things, even in the most harsh of soundscapes. I guess some sort of higher music? I created this album using mainly feedback loops with effects pedals and units. There was much post production using software and acoustical techniques.
I hope this hurts your ears.."

David was the first member of the public to commend the existence of the Freenoise website on its launch in 2005 and we are very proud to have him on board.

Listen to 'Piano Sandwich' on the Freenoise: Fusion CD or 'Ripping Up the Floor' on his myspace page. As good as it gets!
