Thee Free

On Freenoise! (FCD05).
(ltd. 50). 21st Aug 06
Ultra bizarre free noise freak out ritual recorded entirely in one live UTI
solo cathartic session underground (the Freenoise basement). Voodoo drumming,
percussion, harsh electric scuzz, rats, strings, vocals-in-tongues, iron bedstead,
whistles and whips.

Thee Free: 'Student Life Brain Death' (FCD03)
Newly released on Freenoise
Jan 31st 2006 we are very chuffed by this totally insane album.
Put Lightning Bolt, Merzbow, Napalm Death and Cabaret Voltaire into a padded
studio on angel dust for a week.
Seventy two minutes of total all out psychic assault! Due to the huge variety
of influences and input in this project you will not feel overloaded after a
full sitting, but enthused, inspired and satisfied to the sonic hilt. Breakneck
elec guitar, walls of ultra-frequency noise, sci-fi soundscapes, huge mythical
underground machinery churns up the faery folk ... Thee Free is an open community
of noise makers based in the industrial / underground musical hotbed of Sheffield.
Project leader Moodi Von Doodi often dupes visiting folk to his studio into
playing around with mikes and instruments, unbeknown to them they are being
recorded and worked into the pieces currently on the go! Family members, the
postman, even a visiting copper (who came round on request that something was
done about the noisy student neighbours!) was secretly recorded and makes a
guest appearance!! Other more willing participants are Bella who contributes
her amazing glass shattering soprano vocal on 'Armor Piercing'; Magoo who worked
in some Glasweigan nastiness blowing holes in the hull on 'Skye Boat Song' and
Glynn H. jammed on 'There'll Always Be an England', a massive adventure into
walls of frequency noise in this parody on a patriotic war song. Totally nasty,
freaky, obscene 'headphones or missis out only' stuff! Ltd. (100)
