Superb night with top performances by all six acts. The 12k PA was much appreciated by all and thanks to Pete for keeping the sliders well up. Terminal Ooutputs opened with a blinding twin guitar wall of transcendental noise threatening to burst everyone's eardrums and kundalinis. Next up Greek duo played more droning atmospherics keeping the momentum going nicely and were follwed by the inimicable Filthy Turd from Leeds; clothes-pegged nipples, chest smeared with mud and a cling-film head mask he threw the table holding his gadgets aside to beat the crap out of a round chunk of metal, now on fire with the help of lighter fluid, delivering more howling feedback and harsh distortion. Honey Ride Me a Goat drove all the way from Kent and were on top form considering. Guitar / bass / drums trio with sharp heavy and heady free-rock blending with periods of full on freak out. Self taught and plenty of attitude. The guitarist's (big lad with apron!) giant strobe-light headwear provided even more visual candy. Sgure are a French trio having a hilarious time of it; two mac notebooks, an array of pedals and mikes they delivered some extremely bizarre racket mixed with fast garage beats, at one point they enter the audience to dance like crazy clowns. Black Galaxy have a little less hardware nowadays, Mabbot having discovered the benefits of a decent laptop, still via a few consoles. Nic Bullen enjoys his bowed guitar and effects units and together they bring on some of the most sophisticated and frightening music of the evening with some huge distorted beats and soundscapes for over an hour including an encore for which the few hardy fans remaining showed ecstatic appreciation. 12.30am finish.
