Triple
pack of Voltagestress*r CD-Rs inc. Filthy Turd, Romance, Feast
of Ishtar, The Rita, Ancient Rite.
I make no claim to be familiar with this genre so cannot
compare it with anything. Great. What I mean by genre is this
particularly full-on, relentless nasty, dirty thick prison walls
of noise that has no mercy whatsoever for you, the inmate. Merzbow
having a breakdown? Needless to say I am a more than willing
captive and the words 'harder! harder!' come to mind. "No
overdubs or studio hoodoo just harsh psych & no-fi canibalism"
are their own website words to accompany the stuff I've on the
cans now, this jolly Monday morning and I love it. Also the
'Romance' live gig lulled me to sleep the other night, obliterating
the pre-sleep monologue that has become so prevalent in our
time... There's something about this rotten racket from hell
which epitomises the reason for Freenoise being born at all.
eg. I see harshnoise as all the shite sounds of the planet
(especially that masquerading as 'music' and 'tv') processed
randomly all together then played through the old Baghdad stadium
PA at full volume to an audience of all the guilty parties;
play their screams back to them through numerous distortion
units, and there you have it. Well, my version anyway, use your
own! Speaking of which, Voltagesress*r sent me these as they'll
be invading Sheff next Feb and I asked for demos, but if you
get over to http://homepage.ntlworld.com/voltagestressr
you can git your own too. £2 each - inc post! Ommmmmmmm...........
